Why work with a naturopath

THERAPY
NUTRITIONAL THERAPY
Naturopathic medicine is a holistic approach to healthcare that treats the mind, body and spirit. It can be used to prevent and treat various health concerns, including hormonal imbalances, weight and blood sugar management issues, fatigue and much more. The role of a natural healing therapist combines traditional healing techniques and evidence-based science.
As a holistic health consultant, I work with the body’s natural healing systems to find the root cause of the disease and create an environment that allows the body to re-balance itself.
I favour using a combination of the following:
- Naturopathic Nutrition
- Functional Testing
- Herbal Remedies
- Homoeopathy
- Naturopathic Nutrition
- Cupping Therapy

Naturopathic Nutrition
Food has the most significant impact on our hormones and health as women, and there can never be a one diet fits all approach as everyone is so different.
Naturopathic nutrition views the body as a whole. It does not treat any condition or symptom of a disease in isolation. It uses the therapeutic effects of nutrient-dense whole foods as a primary medicinal tool rather than just fuel for the body.
Encouraging women to eat wholesome calorie-dense foods is crucial for hormonal health. Counting calories or restricting food groups will never work in the long term.
Homoeopathy
Homoeopathy is a personalised form of natural medicine; It has been practised in Europe since the mid-1700s.
Following the Law of Similars, Homoeopathy stimulates the body’s healing response: ‘like cures like’. This thinking means that the substance that caused the symptoms is the same substance that can stimulate the cure.
For example, many drink caffeine to keep us alert and awake in our busy lives. That same coffee in a lower dose (homoeopathic form) can be used to support someone that can’t switch off their thoughts or get to sleep.

Cupping Therapy
Cupping is rooted in ancient Egyptian, Chinese and Middle Eastern cultures from 1550 BC.
This therapy is a treatment that allows a cup to go onto the skin, creating suction. That suction pulls blood to the surface to gently detoxify the body’s various organs, allowing healing to occur.
Using this therapy is highly effective as a massage tool to stimulate blood flow throughout the body, reduce inflammation, and create a deep sense of inner calm.
Cupping is also ideal for those that experience joint pain, lower back pain and hormonal imbalances and can help with digestive upsets, bloating, constipation and weight loss.
Herbs
The use of herbs as medicine has a very long history. There are over 30,000 medicinal plants in use worldwide, and many traditional science-based medicines use the power of plants to bring wellness to billions across the globe.
Herbal medicine is a must for anyone experiencing hormonal imbalance, and it can be used safely alongside prescribed medications so long as all contra-indications have been carefully considered, which is why you need a Herbal remedies specialist.

Testing
Testing is an invaluable part of the puzzle. Testing will vary depending on the symptoms, and in some cases, the results may necessitate further testing and a referral to your primary medical practitioner.
Tests commonly covered include:
- Adrenal Stress Test
- Food Sensitivity Test
- Hormone Test
- Fatty Acid Test
- Stool Analysis
- Hair Mineral Analysis
- Vitamin D Test
